Todays Tip is...
Group Your Weapons! Dont blow your wad in one shot, unless its a clear shot. This way if your shot is thrown off by your enemys, then you will have your next group to shoot with! Also, by doing this you can keep your enemy thrown off. It will take practice, but its a starting point!
GOOD LUCK

yep lockie always groups his weapons no wonder he always does so good honestly the need to group depends on map and config... like every loki would do that on dust cuz people pursue them. however when you are facing a sniper forget the groups and fire an alpha because they don't pop very often nowadays. i remember n4sir would always rush everyone in that daishi and chain ppl... result was , if the shot hits arm gets orange instead of red which gives u more time and chance against a chaining person. so : use it only in open and only when you are sure no one is going to come from the side [basically - enough time for that quick field 1v1 stuff cuz it makes sense only there] and dont forget some people can aim quicker than u try to throw their aim off by chaining

Todays Tip Is.....
Try using your surroundings as defense! The biggest mistake that newer players make is "Staying in the open". When your in the open, your a target for everyone within range, this is a guaranteed quick death! Instead, try to use Hills, Blds, Walls, etc.. as cover! Find your target then come out of your cover to take a shot, then get back to cover! Again these are just simple tips, also watch how other players drive their mechs, this will give you an idea as to what Im saying! Good Luck!

Are we all allowed to give tips? I have one. It is mostly for attrition. Whatever attrition mechs you like, be sure you have one with mostly ballistic weapons, and another just like it but with laser weapons. the daishi is really good for this. Most att games, the mechs have either reflective or reactive armor. almost all will have reflective. so get in there with your ballistic mech and you will reign. MUAHAHAH!!

if you are popping side of the wall dont forget to use projection against rushing opponents like mk2/daishi etc. that will waste their shot and wont harm you much. the thing is... turn your torso 90º facing the enemy behind wall, crouch and put your throttle on max. that will make a glitch causing your mech to look like if its moving . everyone but you will see it. so some people still dont know it and shoot the projection and then wonder why is it no dmg

shrek's tip for green players(green means new or fresh if ur not familliar).
agree with: use cover, sont stay in the open to long, and keep moving
disagree with: using groups. i disagree with this because i feel its a more advanced thing you should try once u get a feel with how to move ur mech and where to go on a map. groups help at time and hurt at others so groups should be used as void said for the reasons he gave.
start out in a daishi for a week or 2 then start moving down in mech size until u hit the heavy mechs, nova, madcat, thor etc... and do not use light mechs until u have a strong grasp for the game... for most people this takes over a month.
always remember this is a game and to have fun but not at the expense of others fun so if a team askes u to change teams or to get in a different mech then please do so.

TIP OF THE DAY:
This tip is a continuation of what SHReK had posted.
Daishi... this is a good starter mech because of the following:
1) Easy to pilot, because of the speed and size. 2) Can take alittle more damage before dying. 3) Has the most firepower allowed on any 1 mech.
Here is the most commonly used Daishi configuration...
6 Clan ERL's 2 Light Guass
I havent used this config since I first started playing, but you will in time find what config works for you, this is just a "Starting Point".
Also, you could use 2 Heavy Guass instead of the light guass, but the reload time is longer. Or, you could use Clan LBX instead of 1 or even both Guass weapons. Clan LBX does serious damage and even kGAYks your opponent's aim off with very short reload time, but the range is close.
Good Luck,

Even if this isnt my site I want to make a quick response. Shrek said that you should start off in assualts and work your way down. I disagree. If you start off in lighter mechs you will learn to importance of how to dodge bigger mechs. Also you will learn how to chain your weapons properly, because as a lgith you must be able to do as much damage as possible.
The only thing in Vengance is the limit of three light mechs, The Cougar (nice light command mech), the Raven (nice scout/harasser), and the Osiris ( Nice harasser mech). Small mediums will work too. Hellspawn and Uziel.

honsetly dude... that nuts doesnt work... big mech so u live longer and have more power to impact the game... little mechs u wont see the result of ur actions cuz ur shots dont do much damage... to fast for most new people to control... and u die alot more f**king ur team and not letting u get a longer time on 1 guy.

If you are using 2 or more different weapon systems,[missiles and lasers for instance], get familiar with the different reload times. It can have nearly the same effect as chaining at times. Also, for really new people, play the one-player mode first, it's great practice. I try to keep my weapons systems down to two, and these two should have VERY different capabilities. Ask CW and Iceman about the effectiveness of lasers / ssrms.

Don't always go for the kill shots. Look where the target is damaged besides CT and add your shot to that. Sometimes its very important to get as many points out of a kill as you can, especially when fighting mechs with multiple weapon types : which is why everyone ears madcats. Couple of mechs have most weaponry concentrated in just a single points and it would mean a certain defeat for them if you destroy it. Such as : thanatos' ballistic weapon arm, makes mech useless when destroyed, same about argus ballistic weapon side. Most mechs, however, are more balanced and have weaponry in multiple points. On maps like dust try to go for the missiles racks on loki's and thors, that will weaken them greatly in just one shot, and if you have a lams you will have no problem fighting them further. Some mechs have special firing points, like: to take a gauss off an atlas you need to hit small weapon rack on the side of its right visib. leg, and to get center torso gauss/lasers off a daishi you need to hit its rear torso until it gets crit.

I like that tip on the projection void. it does work. never seen that . also, if you want to shoot around a corner and not expose yourself much. change the view on your mech. you have a left and a right side view and it changes (slightly) the aim point, and you can pretty much shoot through walls using this.

if ur going to side camp like natas said and ur missing and arm you should pop that side and not the other because even though u have to go out just as far since u dont have an arm there u actually pop out less mech and makes u harder to hit. Also the changing of the view does not mean u pop out less than u do with it over head it just means u can see around the wall much faster and line up ur shot before u pop over so u can spend less time in the open. The side 3rd person view just changes the camera angle not where the recticle is... so even though its in a new place dont get fooled cuz up close it doesnt shoot where the recticle is on the screen.

Two most help-full tips I learned when I was a Noob...
1-When different weapons re-load, they make different sounds. LRMissiles go KaChunk, Lasers go Swoosh etc... Listen for this instead of Looking at your weapons HUD to turn green. This way you can keep your eye balls on the field where they belong and just listen for your different weapons to come on-line.
2-Missiles can be as accurate as laser fire. When you fire missiles, they don't just hit randomly. So If you aim for a leg or center when you get a lock, they generally go right there.

Okay, this is just for those who like, or think they might like, to brawl....If you really like to hook it up, to go face-to-face with the enemy, if you actually LIKE to lose a paintjob to splash,...think about how I just described it. It isn't about points, or ratios, or even winning a match. It's about that creepy-crawly feeling you get when you have passed irrevocably into 'enemy-held' territory,...your teammates are waay back there, and your opponents are all around you. If you are fool,[or hero] enough to flip on your radar, all you will see is red dots. Yeah, that's the feeling I'm talkin' 'bout. You spot something moving, head toward it, and there's no feeling quite like what you experience in that last 400m or so.Brothers, I can testify that there IS NO EXPERIENCE IN THIS GAME to equal slipping up in 'passive' mode on someone who has their radar off too, and just standing there, behind them, for a couple of seconds. If you aren't a brawler at heart, you'll never understand, I mean, who cares who had the biggest score, after something like that? I often have truly lousy scores,.....but I walk into enemy territory like those guys dont even exist. On the one hand, the rewards are intangible, but for someone with the right spirit, they are enormous. If this strikes a chord with you, forget all about ratios, scores, etc., and just go for it. Braggarts will dis you, but wise players will tip their hats.
